CEDARVILLE, Ohio -
Quinton Green tallied 18 points including the go ahead basket with a minute left as the Yellow Jackets survived Senior Day with a 70-64 G-MAC decision against Ohio Dominican.
The 6-foot-7 senior finished with team-highs of 18 points and nine rebounds for Cedarville, 16-10 overall and 11-7 G-MAC.
Branden Maughmer finished with 17 points and younger brother
Jayvon Maughmer came off the bench with 10.
The Jackets bolted to a 12-2 lead and from then on could not shake free of the Panthers, who eventually opened up a 55-51 margin of their own with 8:45 remaining.
The home team scored the last eight points over the final 2:30 to clinch the victory.
Green's two free throws knotted the score at 64-64 followed by his offensive rebound and put back with 1:05 left to give CU the lead for good.
Stinger Notes:
- Senior Day honorees before the game were Green, Branden Maughmer, Isaiah Speelman, Conner TenHove, Kollin Van Horn, and student manager Josh Decker.
- The five seniors are all members of the 1,000 Point Club and have combined for 6,598 career points and 2,540 rebounds.
- The Jackets, who lead the G-MAC in free throw shooting, were 17-of-20 at the line.
- Points in the paint were 38-18 in favor of Cedarville.
- CU finished 9-3 at home with the three setbacks by a combined total of eight points.
- The Jackets won both regular season games vs. ODU in a span of three days and hold a 67-25 lead in the all-time series.
