Casey Bertke spun a complete-game one-hitter as Cedarville blanked Lindenwood, 3-0, at the Blue Bridge Battle for Interim Head Coach
Kelsey Chapman's first victory.
Bertke struck out three and did not walk a batter for the Lady Jackets, 1-2 overall.
Kaley Clark stroked a pair of hits including a double with two runs scored and a stolen base.
In the first game, a late rally fell short in a 7-5 setback to Missouri S&T.
Cedarville scored four runs after the first two batters were retired in the bottom of the seventh inning and ended the game with the tying run at the plate.
Clark had two more hits.
Arica Flaugher added two hits including an RBI triple while
Faith Bergner had two hits with an RBI.
Stinger Notes:
- Mackenzie Russell hammered an RBI triple vs. Missouri S&T.
- First pitch temperature in the morning game was 33 degrees.
- It was the first meeting on the softball diamond against both schools.
- Next up: the Jackets are scheduled to play 14 games in Florida on March 3-11 during spring break.
