CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Freshman
Taylor Strock tossed in a career-high 20 points to lead the Lady Jackets to a 76-70 G-MAC decision against Trevecca at the Callan Athletic Center.
The rookie from Napoleon, Ohio made a key driving layup for a 74-70 lead with 41.2 seconds to go and then sealed the outcome on two free throws with eight ticks remaining.
Emily Chapman hit a trio of three pointers and finished with 15 points for Cedarville, 13-8 overall and 8-7 G-MAC.
Paige Garr scored 14 points and
Lydia Sweeney added 11 points with three steals.
The home team never trailed in racing to leads of 20-6 and 43-28.
The Trojans scratched back to within two points late in the fourth quarter before Strock stepped up in the final minute.
Stinger Notes:
- Cedarville made six-of-eight threes in the first quarter while scoring 33 points.
- Strock pulled down a game-high nine rebounds.
- The Lady Jackets made all 13 of their free throws.
- In her last seven games, Chapman is 17-of-18 at the line with an .873 accuracy for the season.
- CU has beaten Trevecca 14 consecutive times and leads the all-time series, 17-3.
