HIGHLIGHTS
CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Walsh extended its winning streak to 11 in a row with a 80-70 win over Cedarville in G-MAC women's action staged at the Callan Athletic Center.
Lydia Sweeney popped in a career-high 21 points for the Lady Jackets, 13-9 overall and 8-8 G-MAC, in what was the annual Play4Kay Pink Game.
Allison Mader fired in four three-pointers en route to 20 points and
Emily Chapman added 17.
The middle two quarters were key for the Cavaliers when they shot 61 percent from the field and outscored the home team, 40-23.
Cedarville made 11-of-17 shots in the fourth quarter including four triples to put 29 points on the board and trim what was a 20-point deficit to nine with a minute left.
Stinger Notes:
- Mader was 4-for-5 from deep and CU made 11-of-24 treys as a team.
- Chapman led the team with five assists.
- Paige Garr hauled in seven of the squad's 21 rebounds.
- Walsh leads the all-time series, 23-22.
- The rivals close out the regular season in a rematch in North Canton, Ohio on Feb. 26.
- Play4Kay is an opportunity for a nation of players and coaches to raise awareness of all cancers that affect women generating funds for research on the court, across campuses, and in communities.
