HIGHLIGHTS
CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Lake Erie took control early in the second half and held off the Yellow Jackets, 86-83, in a G-MAC matchup at the Callan Athletic Center.
The Storm, who entered the game last in the league in three-point shooting and free throw accuracy, knocked down ten triples and converted 20-of-26 (.769) at the line.
Cedarville, on the other hand, was leading the conference in both categories. The hosts hit eight from deep, but converted just 13-of-20 free throws for 65 percent.
Branden Maughmer racked up a season-high 29 points and younger brother
Jayvon Maughmer had 13 for the Jackets, 13-9 overall and 9-6 G-MAC.
Isaiah Speelman and
Kollin Van Horn added nine points each. Speelman became the 59th player in school history to score over 1,000 career points.
Lake Erie held the lead for the final 17 minutes of the contest. The visitors maintained command by shooting 56 percent from the field in the second half while making 14-of-17 free throws (.824).

- Speelman joins teammates Van Horn, Quinton Green, Branden Maughmer, and Conner TenHove in the 1,000 Point Club.
- The Jackets shot 50 percent or better from the field for the fourth game in a row.
- LEC had a slight rebounding edge, 30-29, but a sizable margin in bench scoring, 41-22.
- Cedarville has dropped three G-MAC home games by a total of eight points.
- The Yellow Jackets lead the all-time series, 12-4.
- The two teams meet again in less than 48 hours in Painesville, Ohio.
