CHAMPIONSHIP INFO
ASHLAND, Ohio - No. 6 seed Cedarville held No. 3 Ashland in check for most of the night en route to an impressive 70-55 victory in the first round of the G-MAC Tournament at Kates Gymnasium.
The Yellow Jackets, 18-11, move on to face No. 2 Hillsdale in Friday's second semifinal at Walsh University in North Canton, Ohio. Game time is 7:30 p.m. EST.
Branden Maughmer paced a balanced offense with 16 points.
Conner TenHove (13),
Kollin Van Horn (12), and
Quinton Green (11) joined him in double figures.
Cedarville took the lead for good on a pair of Maughmer free throws with just under five minutes to go in the first half.
The visitors led 38-30 at halftime and built the advantage to as much as 21 with seven minutes to go.
