NORTH CANTON, Ohio -
Branden Maughmer's steal and layup beat the buzzer to stun No. 2 Hillsdale, 68-66, in the G-MAC Championship Semifinals and send the No. 6 Yellow Jackets to the title game for the second year in a row.
CU faces host and No. 1 seed Walsh on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. EST with the winner earning the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional.
Maughmer stole an inbounds pass with six seconds remaining and sprinted three-quarters the length of the court to lay in the winner.
It finished off a furious finish in which the Yellow Jackets scored seven unanswered points in the final 43 seconds to beat the Chargers for the first time ever.
Trailing 66-61 with under a minute to play,
Isaiah Speelman drilled a three-pointer and then following a Hillsdale turnover, Maughmer canned a 15-footer with 12 seconds left to tie it.
Maughmer racked up 24 points, seven rebounds, and five steals for Cedarville, 19-11.
