JAN PHYL VILLAGE, Fla. - Cedarville won big and then had its seven-game winning streak halted in an extra inning affair in The Spring Games at the Auburndale Softball Complex.
The Lady Jackets defeated Wayne State NE, 9-1, in five innings in the morning game.
Faith Bergner delivered a three-run double and an RBI single to lead the offense.
Mackenzie Russell had two hits while
Kaley Clark added a two-run single.
Adaline Ziehmer, 2-1, and
Emily Blake combined on a four-hitter in the circle.
In the afternoon contest, California PA scraped up a run in the bottom of the eighth inning for a 2-1 result.
Bergner broke a scoreless tie with a solo home run in the fifth inning for Cedarville, 11-4, but the Vulcans tied it in the bottom half.
Both runs were unearned off of
Casey Bertke, 6-2, who struck out four and allowed just three hits.
