WINTER HAVEN, Fla. - The Lady Jackets took down Wheeling and Bloomfield at DiamondPlex to finish their best-ever performance at The Spring Games.
Cedarville went 12-2 at the big event - slightly better than the 12-3 showing turned in by the 2014 club.
The Jackets opened with a 5-2 decision over Wheeling to avenge their season-opening loss to the Cardinals.
Winning pitcher
Casey Bertke, 7-2, struck out eight and allowed one earned run on four hits. She added two hits including a mammoth home run and scored twice.
Kaley Clark had two hits including a double and an RBI while
McKenna Smith produced two hits and two runs.
Cedarville closed out the trip with a 9-3 victory over Bloomfield to improve to 13-4 overall.
Faith Bergner went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI, and two runs scored. Clark tacked on two more hits with a double, two runs, and three RBI.
Adaline Ziehmer, 3-1, got the win in the circle with relief help from
Emily Blake.
