CALEDONIA, Mich. - Cedarville and Davenport traded results in a chilly non-conference doubleheader at the Farmers Insurance Complex.
The Lady Jackets won the first game, 5-2, behind another strong performance in the circle by
Casey Bertke. She allowed just three hits and struck out seven.
McKenna Smith went 4-for-4 at the plate with a run scored and an RBI while
Mackenzie Russell added a pair of hits and scored twice.
Lexi Parsons stroked a two-run double and
Mariah Wallace produced an RBI triple.
The Panthers took the second contest, 6-2, limiting the Cedarville offense to just three hits.
Russell drilled a two-run homer for the only runs of the game for the Lady Jackets, 14-5 overall.
CU finally hosts its first home games on Monday after playing the first 19 on the road.
