JAN PHYL VILLAGE, Fla. - Cedarville knocked off Bemidji State and then had a furious rally fall just short of NFCA Division II No. 22 Georgian Court in The Spring Games at the Auburndale Softball Complex.
The Yellow Jackets opened the day with a 5-2 win over Bemidji State. The big blow was a three-run bomb by
Mariah Wallace to open the scoring in the fourth inning.
Arica Flaugher added a sacrifice fly and
Carrie Jespersen had an RBI double.
Starting pitcher
Emily Blake got the win. She tossed four scoreless innings with three strikeouts.
Cedarville dropped a 7-5 decision to nationally-ranked Georgian Court, but not before nearly erasing a seven-run deficit.
The Jackets tallied a run in the fifth and then scored four times in the seventh loading the bases with one out. Unfortunately, the comeback fizzled there.
Mackenzie Russell totaled three hits including a two-run double.
Faith Bergner,
Kaley Clark,
Lexi Parsons, and
McKenna Smith contributed two hits apiece.
