WINTER HAVEN, Fla. - Cedarville added two more victories to its resume' in The Spring Games at DiamondPlex.
The Lady Jackets have won four straight and eight-of-nine to push their overall record to 8-3.
CU edged Mercyhurst, 4-2, in the morning game and then came back in the afternoon to nip Ferris State, 4-3, on a sacrifice fly by
Adaline Ziehmer in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Casey Bertke notched both wins inside the circle to improve to 5-1.
She went the distance against Mercyhurst with seven strikeouts and then tossed the final three frames vs. FSU with four K's.
Ziehmer belted a solo homer to get a four-run second inning started in the opener.
McKenna Smith delivered a two-run triple and
Mackenzie Russell followed with an RBI single.
Smith added three hits against Ferris State.
Kaley Clark singled twice and scored twice including the winner. Bertke helped her cause with a pair of hits.
