TIFFIN, Ohio -
Adaline Ziehmer spun a one-hitter and blanked Tiffin, 3-0, as the Lady Jackets took both games of a G-MAC doubleheader.
Cedarville held on for a 3-2 victory in the first game.
Ziehmer, 4-2, struck out a career-high ten batters and took a no-hitter into the seventh inning before giving up a leadoff single.
She helped her cause at the plate by contributing two hits to go along with a run scored.
Lexi Parsons had three hits including a double while
Mariah Wallace added two hits for the Jackets, 17-8 overall and 2-2 G-MAC.
CU took advantage of seven Tiffin errors to score three unearned runs to win the first game.
Winning pitcher
Casey Bertke, 10-3, went the distance in the circle with three strikeouts and had one of the team's three hits.
Parsons doubled and
Mackenzie Russell added a single.
Stinger Notes:
- The Lady Jackets committed just one error in the 38 degree temperatures.
- CU stranded 19 base runners in the two games including 12 in the nightcap.
- Parsons tops the club with eight doubles.
- Tiffin still leads the all-time series, 39-24.
