CEDARVILLE, Ohio -
Casey Bertke and
Adaline Ziehmer fired blanks inside the circle during a day when three Cedarville players were honored on Senior Day.
Bertke spun a two-hitter with seven strikeouts as the Lady Jackets won the opener, 3-0.
Faith Bergner recorded two of the team's nine hits while seven other players contributed singles.
Bertke,
Sophia Hevel, and
Lexi Parsons all tallied the RBI's.
In the second game, Parsons' RBI groundout in the first inning was all that Ziehmer needed.
The sophomore righthander limited the Panthers to three hits and fanned seven without walking a batter.
Bergner was a perfect 3-for-3 for Cedarville, 21-16 overall and 6-10 G-MAC.
Stinger Notes:
- Seniors Sami Buettell, Carrie Jespersen, and McKenna Smith were honored prior to the start of the second game.
- Buettell had a infield single in the opener while Jespersen stole two bases.
- On the day, Smith totaled a hit, two runs, and three steals.
- Cedarville stranded nine base runners in the first game including one at third base in all six innings.
- The shutouts were Bertke's third of the season and Ziehmer's second.
- Cedarville finished 4-10 at home.
- The all-time series vs. Kentucky Wesleyan is tied, 13-13.
- The Jackets finish the regular season this week with doubleheaders at Ashland, Walsh, and Malone.
