Northwood outplays Cedarville, 2-0

HIGHLIGHTS

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - G-MAC newcomer Northwood scored twice three minutes apart in the second half and stifled the Lady Jackets with a 2-0 result.

The Timberwolves found the net in the 59th and 62nd minutes to put Cedarville in a hole in which it couldn't recover.

The hosts outshot NU in each half amounting to 17-12 overall and 7-4 on goal.

One strike by Olivia Hoffman was drilled off the post in the second period that would have cut the deficit in half.

It was the first setback in the conference for the Jackets, 3-2-1 overall and 2-1 G-MAC.

Stinger Notes:
  • Goalkeeper Brooke Ackley was credited with two saves.
  • CU is 2-2 on the six-game homestand with defending G-MAC champion Ashland looming on Saturday.
  • The Timberwolves were playing their fifth straight road game to open the season.
  • Northwood leads the all-time series, 2-0.
