CALIFORNIA, Pa. -
Mauricio Ochoa Vazquez scored in the 82nd minute to provide the Yellow Jackets a 1-0 non-conference result at California PA in the first road test of the season.
Timothy Lee was credited with the assist setting up Vazquez, who completed the combination play with a strike from 20 yards.
It was the only shot on goal in the contest by either side.
Cedarville outshot the Vulcans overall, 11-6, and attempted more corner kicks, 10-4.
Goalkeeper
Jared Zacharias did not have to make a save, but registered his third straight clean sheet for the Jackets, 2-0-1.
Stinger Notes:
- The goal was the second of the season for Vazquez.
- CU won at Cal PA for the second straight year.
- Nine of the Yellow Jackets' corners occurred in the first half.
- Each team committed ten fouls.
- It's the first time the Jackets have started a season with three straight shutouts since 2013 - Brett Faro's first as head coach.
- Cedarville leads the all-time series, 4-1.
