HIGHLIGHTS
CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Cedarville scored twice in the first half and then withstood a strong push from Northwood for a 2-1 result in the G-MAC opener for both sides.
Volk tapped in a rebound off the keeper in the 14th minute on an assist from
Mauricio Ochoa Vazquez to get the scoring underway.
Bukasa did the same following
Jake Johnson's restart from 30 yards out in the 36th.
It stayed 2-0 until the Timberwolves scored the first goal this season against CU by redirecting in a corner kick in the 71st minute.
Jared Zacharias registered a pair of saves for the Yellow Jackets, 3-0-1.
Stinger Notes:
- A total of 31 fouls combined plus seven yellow cards were handed out.
- Cedarville had the shot advantage 20-10 overall and 9-3 on goal.
- The Jackets missed a pair of PK's after building a 2-0 margin.
- It was Northwood's first-ever G-MAC contest after joining the league from the GLIAC.
- CU leads the all-time series, 2-0, with a pair of 2-1 home wins.
