Triple-double Drees leads CU over Findlay

HIGHLIGHTS

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Jacob Drees racked up his first career triple-double to guide the Yellow Jackets to a 85-72 G-MAC victory over Findlay at the Callan Athletic Center.

Drees was good for 20 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 assists for Cedarville, 11-4 overall and 4-3 G-MAC.

Jayvon Maughmer added 21 points and Chris Rogers netted 15 - all in the second half.

Findlay reversed a 12-point first half deficit into a 62-62 deadlock midway through the second period.

However, Rogers sparked a ten-point run with back-to-back three-pointers followed by a pair of layups by Tytist Dean.

The Oilers got no closer than seven points the rest of the way.

Stinger Notes:
  • Drees posted CU's first triple-double since Branden Maughmer had 20-11-10 vs. Tiffin on 1/2/21.
  • The 6-foot-7 senior is averaging 18.2 points, 12.4 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and is shooting .643 from the field in the last five games - all double-doubles or better.
  • Rogers has scored in double figures in four straight contests (14.0 ppg).
  • Maughmer's effort was his sixth 20-point game of the campaign.
  • Cedarville rates second in the country with 12.0 three-pointers made per game (West Liberty; 12.5).
  • The Yellow Jackets improved to 9-1 at home.
  • The Oilers lead the 100-plus year old series by a 78-28 margin.
