CEDARVILLE, Ohio - A solid second half carried Wayne State to a 78-68 non-conference victory in Cedarville's home opener at the Callan Athletic Center.
Lydia Sweeney scored 16 points with three assists for the Lady Jackets, 1-2.
KaCee Kyle totaled 14 points, seven rebounds, four steals, and three assists while
Kat Weakley chipped in 12 points.
Following a 33-33 deadlock at halftime, the Warriors shot 50 percent from the field and converted 10-of-13 free throws over the final 20 minutes.
The visitors controlled the boards, 45-35, but committed 25 turnovers compared to 19 for CU.
STINGER NOTES:
- The Jackets' largest lead was 16-8 in the first quarter.
- Cedarville scored 27 of its points off turnovers compared to 14 for WSU.
- There were 10 lead changes with 10 tie scores.
- Nine different Lady Jackets hit the scoring column.
- Wayne State leads the series, 5-0, which began in the 2015-16 season.
