MIDLAND, Mich. - No. 2 seed and unbeaten Ashland blanked the No. 3 Lady Jackets, 3-0, in a G-MAC semifinal contest played at Northwood University.
The defending champion Eagles are ranked No. 2 in the latest United Soccer Coaches Division II poll.
Ashland started quickly in getting on the board before the game was barely three minutes old.
A goal in the 54th minute and a penalty kick seven minutes later sealed the outcome.
It's just the third time this season that Cedarville has been shutout and the first time since a 0-0 draw vs. Trevecca on Oct. 7.
The Lady Jackets, 15-4-1, are No. 4 in the most recent Midwest Region rankings.
Cedarville hopes to receive an at-large bid to the NCAA Division II Championship when selections are announced on Monday, November 13.
