CEDARVILLE, Ohio -
Jayvon Maughmer tallied 27 points and
Anthony Ruffolo added a career-high 26 to power the Yellow Jackets to a 94-87 victory over Lewis at the Callan Athletic Center.
Ethan Sellars scored 16 points in his first career start and
Grant Whisman came off the bench with 12 to lift Cedarville to 7-4.
The Jackets never relinquished the lead after Sellars made the first of the team's 13 three-pointers before the game was two minutes old, but Flyers were always close.
A 12-point margin melted to 43-38 by halftime. Lewis closed to within one on two occasions early in the second half before CU methodically inflated it to 77-62 with 7:32 left.
The visitors got back to within six at the 3:25 mark. Back-to-back layups by Sellars and Whisman returned the difference to ten to provide the Yellow Jackets some breathing room.
