BIG RAPIDS, Mich. - NABC Division II No. 23 Ferris State turned around a 15-point second half deficit to rally past Cedarville, 91-82, at Jim Wink Arena.
The Bulldogs outscored the visitors 22-11 in the last five minutes to secure the victory.
Jayvon Maughmer fired in a game-high 25 points for the Yellow Jackets, 7-5 overall.
Anthony Ruffolo tallied 15 points and
Timothy Davis chipped in 14.
CU took a 38-27 lead into the halftime locker room and stretched the margin to 46-31 early in the second period.
However, Ferris State ultimately outscored the Jackets 64-44 over the final 20 minutes with 72 percent shooting which included a 6-for-10 showing from deep to go along with a 12-for-13 accuracy at the line.
STINGER NOTES:
- Cedarville, No. 1 in Division II in three-pointers made per game, hit 14-of-34 triples.
- The Jackets had a 39-37 rebounding edge with Jacob Drees hauling in six boards.
- Ruffolo was credited with four of the team's 16 assists.
- CU, who ranks fourth nationally in free throw percentage, converted 16-of-18.
- Ferris State has won all three meetings in the series vs. the Yellow Jackets.
