PAINESVILLE, Ohio -
Jayvon Maughmer poured in a career-high 33 points and helped rally Cedarville to a 83-78 G-MAC victory at Lake Erie.
Anthony Ruffolo equaled his career-high with 26 points and
Timothy Davis added 12 for the Yellow Jackets, 8-5 overall and 3-1 G-MAC.
The Storm enjoyed a 77-68 cushion with 3:55 to play when Cedarville made one final push.
The Jackets unleashed 11 consecutive points to take the lead for good and Maughmer hit four free throws down the stretch to seal it.
Lake Erie held the advantage for more than 32 minutes of the contest including a 46-32 spread following a three-point play to open the second half.
Cedarville responded with 13 consecutive points and the battle was on.
STINGER NOTES:
- Maughmer and Ruffolo combined for 41 of the team's 51 points in the second half.
- Jacob Drees recorded ten rebounds, three blocks, and three steals - all game highs.
- The Yellow Jackets shot 59 percent (16-for-27) in the final 20 minutes.
- Maughmer was the only CU player to attempt a free throw after halftime going 14-for-14 and finishing 15-for-16 overall.
- Ruffolo is averaging 22.3 points and shooting .522 outside the arc since starting the last three games.
- Cedarville leads the all-time series vs. Lake Erie, 14-6.
- The rematch is January 13 at the Callan Athletic Center.
