CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. -
Jayvon Maughmer scored 26 points to lead Cedarville to a 89-74 victory at G-MAC newcomer Thomas More.
Jacob Drees had 12 points and 14 rebounds for his second straight double-double for the Yellow Jackets, 5-3 overall and 2-0 G-MAC.
Tymoteusz Pszczola added 14 points and
Ethan Sellars tallied 13 with both players coming off the bench.
Cedarville reversed a seven-point first half deficit to a 45-39 lead by the intermission.
The Jackets never trailed again with the final score the largest margin of the contest.
STINGER NOTES:
- The Jackets were 13-for-13 from the free throw line.
- Cedarville outscored TMU 58-28 in the paint and 40-16 in bench scoring.
- CU was credited with more steals (7) than assists (6).
- While there were no tie scores the lead changed hands ten times.
- It was only the second meeting in men's basketball between the two schools.
- The Saints were 101-75 winners during the 1968-69 season.
- Thomas More visits the Callan Athletic Center on January 6
