Slow start for Lady Jackets in Tennessee

SMYRNA, Tenn. - Cedarville softball was stymied in the first two games of the 2023 season at the Music City Invitational.

McKendree no hit the Lady Jackets, 18-0, in the opener which was halted after five innings by the eight-run mercy rule.

Illinois Springfield shutdown CU in the second contest at Cedar Stone Park, 6-0.

Jordan Berry tripled against UIS for the team's first hit of the campaign and Mariah Wallace singled.

Casey Bertke went the distance in the circle allowing three earned runs with four strikeouts.
