Jackets take split with visiting Northwood

HIGHLIGHTS

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Casey Bertke fired a complete game and Arica Flaugher drove in the go ahead run as the Lady Jackets stung G-MAC newcomer Northwood, 2-1.

The Timberwolves rolled to a 9-4 victory in the second contest.

Bertke, 8-8, allowed an unearned run on five hits with four strikeouts. She aided her cause with an RBI single in the first inning.

With the score tied 1-1 in the sixth, Mariah Wallace tripled into the right field corner and Flaugher followed with a laser to the wall in right field for an RBI double.

Dana Bertke had two hits and Faith Bergner scored a run.

In the nightcap, Northwood scored in each of the first four innings to take command.

Bergner had two hits including an RBI double and two runs scored. Kaley Clark had two hits and Casey Bertke totaled two RBI for CU, 15-19 overall and 9-3 G-MAC.
