FINDLAY, Ohio - Findlay snuffed out a pair of Cedarville threats for a 2-1 victory and a sweep of their G-MAC doubleheader at Anderson Field.
The Oiler offense exploded late in the first game to pull away for a 9-4 decision.
The Lady Jackets, 17-21 overall and 11-5 G-MAC, outhit the hosts 10-4 in the second contest but were unable to capitalize on big opportunities.
Findlay held CU scoreless in both the third and sixth innings when the visitors had runners on second and third with nobody out.
Dana Bertke had three hits including a double with a run scored.
Faith Bergner and
Lexi Parsons had two hits each while
Arica Flaugher stroked a double.
Casey Bertke allowed two earned runs on four hits with seven strikeouts.
In game one, UF overcame a 4-3 deficit with five runs in the fifth inning and one in the sixth.
Bergner slugged a two-run homer and Flaugher added two hits including a solo shot.
Casey Bertke and
Sophia Hevel contributed two hits apiece.
