INDIANAPOLIS -
Megan McClish scored the goal and the defense did the rest as United Soccer Coaches Division II No. 23 Cedarville blanked Indianapolis, 1-0, in the season opener for both sides.
Maya Ryder tracked down a long pass at the right end line and laid the ball back to the six-yard box.
McClish slotted a shot just inside the right post for her eighth career tally in the 60th minute.
Attempts were at a premium for the two Midwest Region opponents with the Jackets holding advantages of 6-2 overall and 5-1 on frame.
Brooke Ackley went the distance in goal with one save and her 17th shutout to move into third place on CU's all-time list.
It was the Jackets' first victory over UIndy in three tries.
