ASHLAND, Ohio - United Soccer Coaches Division II No. 1 Ashland scored twice after intermission to knock off the Lady Jackets, 3-1, in a key G-MAC women's soccer contest.
The unbeaten Eagles, 8-0-1 overall and 4-0-1 G-MAC, are the defending conference tournament champions while Cedarville, 7-3 and 4-2 G-MAC, is the reigning regular season champ.
Ashland took the early lead with a goal in the ninth minute.
The Jackets equalized in the 39th when
Katie Ulmer crossed a ball from the right end line to the far post where
Seren Johnson sprinted to deflect it in.
Addie Erslan was credited with a secondary assist.
The Eagles regained the lead for good six minutes into the second period and tacked on an insurance goal in the 73rd.
The hosts had the advantage in total shots (13-4), shots on goal (7-4), and corner kicks (7-1).
