ASHLAND, Ohio - The Yellow Jackets took over sole possession of first place in the G-MAC with a convincing 74-44 victory at defending champion Ashland.
Jayvon Maughmer scored 17 points for Cedarville, 13-5 overall and 7-1 G-MAC, who has won six straight.
Jacob Drees turned in his third straight double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds while
Ethan Sellars added 12 points.
The Jackets never trailed during what was their finest defensive performance in 15 years.
Neither side scored in the final three-plus minutes of the first half with CU taking a 27-19 margin into the locker room.
In the second half, the visitors shot 59 percent from the field and buried 9-of-16 three-pointers to pull away.
A 31-12 explosion covering ten minutes blew the game open which reached as much as a 33-point difference late in the contest.

STINGER NOTES:
- It was the fewest points allowed since a 51-43 victory at Bryan on Dec. 20, 2008.
- Cedarville won the battle of the boards, 42-32.
- The Jackets attempted only one free throw with just 17 fouls total whistled in the game.
- Drees dished out a game-high five assists.
- Seven different players made a three-pointer with the team totaling 14.
- The result was Ashland's first setback in eight home games this winter.
- The two teams meet again in the Callan Athletic Center on February 29.
