CEDARVILLE, Ohio -
Ethan Sellars piled up 22 points and Cedarville caught fire from the three-point line in a 73-54 G-MAC result over Thomas More at the Callan Athletic Center.
Timothy Davis scored 17 points and
Anthony Ruffolo added 15 for the Jackets, 10-5 overall and 5-1 G-MAC.
All three guards knocked down five three-pointers apiece in the contest.
Jayvon Maughmer chipped in ten points and
Jacob Drees yanked down 14 rebounds to match his season high.
The Saints held the lead for most of the first 15 minutes and opened up a 24-18 margin.
However, Cedarville turned the game around with 18 unanswered points covering the last five minutes of the first half and the first three minutes of the second.
The hosts buried 16 three-pointers featuring a 10-for-20 showing in the second period.
The defense held the Saints to 37 percent shooting - the second-lowest mark by an opponent this winter.
STINGER NOTES:
- The Jackets have made 16 or more triples three times this season.
- CU was 3-for-3 at the line - both season lows for free throws made and attempted.
- It was Sellars third 20-point effort.
- The starters scored 69 of the team's 73 points.
- Drees also had 14 rebounds in the first meeting between the two schools.
- Thomas More dropped to 5-2 in the G-MAC with both losses to CU.
- Cedarville continues to be No. 1 in NCAA Division II with 12.9 three-pointers made per game.
