Lady Jackets beat UIS to end Crossover on a high note

HAMMOND, Ind. - Cedarville outlasted Illinois Springfield in five sets to win the final match of the Midwest Region Crossover at the Hammond Sportsplex.

The Lady Jackets, 8-8 overall, turned around a 9-6 deficit in the fifth set with five straight points en route to the victory.

CU's winning numbers were 23-25, 25-22, 25-19, 23-25, 15-13.

Cassi Shields buried a career-high 25 kills and Madelyn Hensley tallied 23 - one short of her career best.

Janae Heegaard totaled 11 kills and a team-high eight blocks.

Haley Koch and Abby Mainka had six blocks apiece.

Kaley Matney recorded 66 assists and Emma Kuyper had 18 digs - career-highs for each player.
