OWENSBORO, Ky. - A big second quarter propelled Kentucky Wesleyan to a convincing 68-45 G-MAC result over Cedarville at the Owensboro Sportscenter.
The Panthers outscored the visitors 25-9 in the period and rode the momentum to victory.
Kat Weakley scored a season-high 19 points for the Jackets, 5-16 overall and 3-11 G-MAC.
Brianna Zajicek hauled in eight rebounds and
Leah Butterbaugh had six assists.
KWC shot 67 percent in the second quarter to open up a 35-15 halftime margin.
STINGER NOTES:
- The two sides were credited with 35 rebounds apiece.
- Cedarville totaled 15 offensive rebounds.
- Weakley knocked down three of the team's four three-pointers.
- The team's six free throw attempts all came in the third quarter.
- The rematch is February 22 in the Callan Athletic Center.
