Carson-Newman doubles up Yellow Jackets

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - Carson-Newman swept Cedarville by scores of 3-1 and 7-3 in a non-conference twinbill at Silver Diamond.

The host Eagles rallied from a 3-0 deficit in the seven-inning nightcap which was highlighted by a five-run sixth.

Alex Neff recorded two hits including his second solo home run of the day and scored twice.

Boston Torres had the other run for the Yellow Jackets, 0-5.

Offense was at a premium in the nine-inning opener with the two sides combining for ten hits total.

Neff homered for one of Cedarville's four hits. Starting pitcher Tate Marland struck out four batters in six innings on the mound.
