HIGHLIGHTS
CEDARVILLE, Ohio - G-MAC leader Kentucky Wesleyan took overtook Cedarville in the final ten minutes to post a 90-77 victory at the Callan Athletic Center.
Jayvon Maughmer scored 21 points for the Yellow Jackets, 17-10 overall and 11-6 G-MAC.
Anthony Ruffolo added 18 points and
Jacob Drees chipped in 10.
CU took a 65-59 lead on
Grant Whisman's layup with 11:26 remaining, but the Panthers turned things around with an 18-2 run over the next five-plus minutes.
The Yellow Jackets could only get as close as seven points with less than a minute to go.
Cedarville, who has dropped five of its last six games, fell into a 22-10 hole, but recovered to lead 44-39 at halftime.
STINGER NOTES:
- Maughmer added eight rebounds and five assists to his performance.
- Drees, who had missed the previous two games with an injury, grabbed nine rebounds and handed out four assists.
- Ruffolo made four of the team's ten three-pointers.
- The Yellow Jackets made at least ten triples for the 20th time this season.
- The Panthers' 14 treys were the most by a CU opponent since Findlay hit 15 on Dec. 9.
- The two teams combined for nine turnovers total (CU, 4; KWC, 5).
- Kentucky Wesleyan won both regular season games and leads the all-time series, 13-8.
