Brendan Colley had a big day at the plate to lead Cedarville to a 10-5 victory over Saginaw Valley State at the AIA Sports Complex.
The junior third baseman homered, tripled, scored twice, and drove in four runs for the Yellow Jackets, 2-5.
Colley's two-run home run capped off a five-run eighth inning that pushed CU's lead to 10-2.
Boston Torres doubled, tripled, and walked twice with two RBI's while
Nathaniel Adkins added two hits.
Alex Neff scored three times and
Eli Henderson tallied two RBIs.
The offense racked up 12 hits total while the defense turned three double plays.
Starting pitcher
Tate Marland, 1-2, tossed the first five innings and registered his first career victory. He allowed one earned run on two hits.
Colley's RBI single in the third inning gave the Yellow Jackets the lead for good, 2-1.
The hosts scored three times in the fifth after the first two batters were retired for a 5-1 advantage.
