Cedarville splits pair at Blue Bridge Battle

EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The Lady Jackets defeated Lincoln, but lost to Illinois Springfield for the second time this season on Day 1 of the Blue Bridge Battle at Deaconess Sports Park.

In the opener vs. Lincoln, Cedarville scored three times in the top of the first inning and never trailed in the 6-4 win.

Lexi Parsons had two hits with a home run, two runs scored, and two RBIs.

Faith Bergner totaled three hits and two RBIs with Mackenzie Russell adding two hits.

Casey Bertke, 1-2, went the distance in the circle with five strikeouts.

UIS took the lead with a three-run third inning and racked up 13 hits total in an 8-3 outcome.

Mariah Wallace had three of the five hits for the Jackets, 2-7.
