HIGHLIGHTS
CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Tiffin dictated the pace from the outset and made all the big plays down the stretch in posting a 79-75 win over the Yellow Jackets at the Callan Athletic Center.
Cedarville, 16-6 overall and 10-2 G-MAC, watched its nine-game winning streak come to an abrupt halt.
Jayvon Maughmer scored 19 points and
Jacob Drees recorded his sixth double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds.
Ethan Sellars hit five triples for 15 points and
Timothy Davis chipped in 11.
The Dragons, who were playing their third game in five days, never trailed in the final nine-plus minutes.
TU entered the game ranked tenth in the G-MAC in free throw shooting (.693), but went 10-for-10 in the final 37 seconds and made a season-high 25-of-29 (.862) for the game.
STINGER NOTES:
- There were ten lead changes and ten tie scores.
- In the second half, the Dragons shot 62 percent from the field and made 19-of-22 free throws (.864).
- Cedarville's largest lead was four on two occasions midway through the second period.
- Drees has come up with ten or more rebounds in ten consecutive games.
- Tiffin ended a five-game losing streak to the Yellow Jackets.
- It's the only regular season game on the schedule between the two schools.
- Cedarville leads the all-time series, 44-38, which began in the 1973-74 campaign.
