Lady Jackets stumble in Florida opener

WINTER PARK, Fla. - Rollins overpowered Cedarville in a doubleheader at MLK Park to begin the Lady Jackets' spring break trip.

The Tars won by scores of 10-0 and 12-1 with both contests halted in the fifth inning.

In the opener, Rollins jumped on the visitors with eight runs in the first inning - the last seven of which were unearned.

Casey Bertke and Mackenzie Russell registered singles for Cedarville.

Russell doubled in the nightcap and scored the lone run for the Lady Jackets.

Faith Bergner, Alayna Griffing, and Lexi Parsons added singles for CU, who plays its next eight games at the Space Coast Spring Games.
