VIERA, Fla. -
Casey Bertke struck out six and fired a complete game as Cedarville defeated Franklin Pierce, 3-1, in the second game of the day at the Space Coast Spring Games.
Ferris State pulled out a 4-2 win in eight innings of the opener.
Bertke, 2-5, surrendered just one walk and allowed one earned run in going the distance.
Camryn Taktak had two hits including a triple that set up the go ahead run in the fifth.
Dana Bertke and
Kaley Clark both had RBI singles. Clark,
Lindsey Linker, and
Mariah Wallace scored the runs.
In the first game, the Lady Jackets scored twice in the bottom of the seventh inning to force extras.
Dana Bertke tripled in Clark and then later escaped a run down to score the tying run on a steal of home.
