@CUJacketsSB stymies Mercy on one-hitter

VIERA, Fla. - Mackenzie Russell and Adaline Johnson combined to shut down Mercy on a one-hitter during a 9-3 Lady Jacket victory in the Space Coast Spring Games.

Johnson worked the final six innings and did not allow a hit while striking out six.

Camryn Taktak led CU's 12-hit attack with three hits including a double, a run scored, and an RBI.

Kaley Clark went 2-for-3 with three runs and three RBIs while Russell and Dana Bertke added two hits each.

Barry held on to win the late contest, 2-1, at the Space Coast Complex.

Cedarville's run came in the first inning. Bertke scored from second base when Lexi Parsons' sacrifice bunt was thrown away at first for an error.

Russell had two hits and Casey Bertke tripled for the Lady Jackets.
