Casey Bertke fired a two-hitter to lead the No. 6 seed Lady Jackets to a 3-0 win over No. 3 Ohio Dominican to open the G-MAC Softball Championship at Firestone Stadium.
Cedarville advances to play No. 7 Tiffin in the second round on Thursday at 12:30 p.m. EDT.
The Dragons surprised No. 2 and defending champion Hillsdale, 3-0.
Bertke, 15-10, struck out four and did not walk a batter in posting her 22nd complete game.
The senior righthander retired the first 12 batters she faced and allowed just two base runners the entire game. Only one reached second base.
