COLUMBUS, Ohio — Cedarville dropped a tightly contested five-set match to Ohio Dominican, 3-2.
The Lady Jackets rallied to force a deciding set after trailing 2-1, but the Panthers held on for the 15-13 win in the fifth.
Cedarville opened strong with a 25-22 victory in the opening frame before ODU responded with 26-24 and 25-20 wins. The Lady Jackets evened the match 25-22 in the fourth before narrowly coming up short in the final set.
Madelyn Hensley paced the Cedarville attack with 16 kills and four blocks.
Haley Koch added 12 kills and a team-high seven blocks while hitting .526.
Allie Pilat tallied 12 kills, and setter
Kaley Matney orchestrated the offense with 49 assists and nine digs. Defensively,
Alivia Rutt anchored the back row with 28 digs.
As a team, the Lady Jackets hit .211 and posted 10 team blocks while totaling 88 digs.
