CEDARVILLE, Ohio –
Alyssa Griner poked in her first goal of the year as the shorthanded Lady Jackets blanked Walsh, 1-0, on Senior Day.
Cedarville, 9-2-4 overall and 7-1-3 G-MAC, played the last 40-plus minutes a player down, but still found a way to get all three points.
Griner was in the right spot at the right time when a corner kick was deflected to the six-year line where she tucked in a left-footed shot in the 76th minute.
That's all the Jackets needed on a day in which they outshot the visitors 16-8 overall and 8-5 on goal.
Senior goalkeeper
Kaelan Swallow made five saves while recording her third clean sheet.
Quotable: Head Coach Jonathan Meade
"I think what we witnessed today is how much this team loves each other. I was proud of the way they worked for each other and trusted one another. I've never experienced a game like that before and I've been doing this a long time. It was special."
