CEDARVILLE, Ohio - United Soccer Coaches Division II No. 10 Cedarville its unbeaten run with a 3-0 victory over Northwood.

Cedarville (6-0-3, 4-0-1 G-MAC) controlled the match from start to finish, striking twice in the opening 18 minutes and adding a dramatic second-half sequence that sealed the win before a crowd of 787 fans under warm, sunny skies.

The Yellow Jackets wasted no time getting on the board. In just the third minute,
Kirk Wilson capitalized on a rebound off a Northwood defender with
Alex Long assisting.

Cedarville doubled its advantage in the 18th minute when
Eddie Merck chipped home a pass from
Eduardo Castro Ortiz for his first goal at CU.

The defining stretch came early in the second half. With Cedarville up 2-0, goalkeeper
Eben Dewhurst made a diving save on a Northwood penalty kick in the 59th minute.

Moments later, the Jackets were awarded a penalty of their own, and
Yonis Velasquez converted confidently to the upper right corner to put the match out of reach at 3-0.

Dewhurst finished with five saves to record his fourth shutout of the season.
