CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL
TIFFIN, Ohio – No. 3 seed Kentucky Wesleyan eliminated the No. 2 Yellow Jackets, 1-0, in the G-MAC Men's Soccer Championship semifinals.
It was the first loss of the campaign for Cedarville, 11-1-7, who now awaits a possible bid to the NCAA Division II Championship.
The Panthers had only one shot on goal and it made its way through traffic and into the net in the 53rd minute.
Other than that, the stat sheet favored the United Soccer Coaches Division II No. 17 Yellow Jackets.
CU outshot KWC 18-2 overall for the match and 5-1 on goal.
Quotable: Head Coach Brett Faro
"I'm extremely proud of this team. They left everything out there today and did everything we asked them to do. Soccer can be a cruel game at times and results aren't always reflected in how the game was played. Hats off to to KWC for finding a way to get one. I thought we created problems all day and just couldn't find the back of the net. Sometimes that's how it goes. Ultimately, the value and worth of this team is not found in results or championships. It's found in who they are in Christ and I think that has been reflected all season by this team."
