Big inning propels CU over The Master’s in west coast finale

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - The Yellow Jackets scored seven runs in the fifth inning and beat The Master's, 8-5, for their first win of the 2025 season.

Cedarville broke a scoreless tie by sending 12 batters to the plate in the top of the fifth at Lou Herwaldt Stadium.

Micah George pounded a two-run homer and Brendan Colley followed with a solo shot to go back-to-back.

Kaden Wilde tripled in two runs and later scored on an infield error. Grayson Weikel completed the seven-run frame with an RBI single.

The Mustangs got within 7-5 to make it interesting entering the ninth inning, but Cooper Martin drove in an insurance run.

Freshman Landon Case tossed 1.1 innings of relief and recorded his first collegiate win. Connor Legere fanned two batters in the ninth and notched his first career save.

Starting pitcher Tate Marland allowed three hits in 3.2 innings with six strikeouts.

Eight different Yellow Jackets had base hits with Martin leading the way with two.
