Yellow Jackets rally to stun Ashland; gain split

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Cedarville scored four runs in the sixth inning and finished off a 4-3 come-from-behind G-MAC victory over Ashland.

The Eagles cruised to an 8-2 decision in the first game of the doubleheader.

In the nightcap, Ashland broke a scoreless tie with three unearned runs in the top of the sixth.

The Jackets bounced back with four runs on just one hit, but they took advantage of two hit batters and two errors.

Eli Henderson started the one-out rally with a HBP, Kaden Wilde singled to left, and Chris Montes de Oca was also hit-by-pitch to load the bases.

Micah George walked to force in the first run and Grayson Weikel's grounder was misplayed at first for two more runs to tie it.

George then stole third and came home on a throwing error by the catcher to make it 4-3.

Walker Harris, 1-1, was credited with the win in relief and freshman Landon Case got the final three outs for his first save.

CU's only hits were singles by Wilde and Montes de Oca plus a double by Cooper Martin.

The Jackets were checked on three hits in the opener, one of which was a two-run single by Wilde. Weikel doubled and Grant Poindexter added a single.
