Cedarville overpowers Walsh in G-MAC softball sweep

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Lady Jacket pitchers allowed just five hits on the day en route to a pair of G-MAC wins over visiting Walsh.

Cedarville won by scores of 5-0 and 9-1 to improve to 11-18 overall and 6-2 G-MAC.

Freshman righthander Maya Merrill spun a complete game three-hitter in the opener with six strikeouts and no walks.

Caitlin Colley doubled in two runs while Mackenzie Lashuay tripled and scored twice.

The Jackets scored five runs in the fifth inning of the second contest to end it via the eight-run mercy rule.

Dana Croyts totaled three hits, two runs, and two RBI. Camryn Taktak singled, doubled, and drove in two runs. Emilie Fout added two hits and two runs.

Starting pitcher Kara Adkins, 4-3, and reliever Emma Wylie, who notched her third save, allowed just one hit apiece.
