VIERA, Fla. - The Lady Jackets closed out the Space Coast Spring Games with a 9-0 win over Jefferson which was called after five innings.
Mercy defeated Cedarville, 9-4, in the first game of the day.
A six-run third inning propelled the Jackets past Jefferson. Twelve batters went to the plate with
Brynley Rung and
Ella Leonard both delivering two-run singles.
Stephanie Stubblefield went 2-for-3 with two runs scored.
Jordan Berry scored twice and
Mackenzie Lashuay drove in two runs.
Winning pitcher
Kara Adkins, 2-3, spun a two-hitter with two strikeouts.
Mercy scored runs in each of the first five innings beginning with four runs in the first to power by Cedarville.
Leonard ripped three of the team's 12 hits with two hits apiece coming off the bats of Lashuay,
Jordan Berry, and
Emilie Fout.
